PAKT 2020 – Travelling Academy of Creative Tourism

About the project:

PAKT 2020 was a traveling academy for creative tourism. It included 6 free workshops for interested members of the public, especially actors from the cultural and creative industries. The project aimed to build a better cooperation between the CCI and tourism stakeholders.

Our team conducted 3 PAKT workshops on different topics from tourism innovation, destination coopetition, marketing, legal issues and more.

The participants of the workshops are now prepared to dive into the experience economy with their tourism products. They learned how to innovate at different touch points: their product, their processes or their marketing.

Workshops Posavje

About the project:

As part of the “Stara Šola za nove ideje” project, co-financed by the LAS Posavje Rural Development Programme, mentors and students from UP FTŠ – sTOUdio Turistca and AIRTH (Alliance for Innovators and Researchers in Tourism and Hospitality) conducted 9 training workshops for local tourism providers in the first half of 2020.

During the workshops we helped local tourism providers to develop different tourism ideas. These were related to beekeeping, butchery, bakery, accommodation, etc.

The response of the local providers to the development assistance of the participating students and mentors was very encouraging.

The opinion of one participant: “I am totally impressed with your work and got a lot of motivation to continue. Yesterday’s meeting was a real test of what we can do and the ideas are already developing.”

Workshops Poljanska dolina

About the project:
On Friday 9 October and Saturday 10 October 2020, mentors and students from UP FTŠ – sTOUdio Turistica and AIRTH (Alliance for Innovators and Researchers in Tourism and Hospitality) held two workshops for local tourism providers in Poljanska Dolina.

The two workshops started with short theoretical inputs (planning a customer experience, marketing in tourism, impact tourism, LocalsFromZero platform and distribution channels, coopetition in tourism and digital marketing). In the second part, one-on-one meetings were held with each participant to discuss their challenges.

The participants acquired a wide range of new tourism knowledge. The opinion of one participant: I am glad that you organized a really interesting and at the same time very practical workshop. I would like to praise all the lecturers who presented every piece of the mosaic of the workshop in an excellent and professional way. I got a lot of useful tips that I will be happy to use in my work. Once again, my compliments to the organizers and practitioners for a job well done. Marjeta Kavčič, Homestead Experiences Tešnak

Conference: Cultural Tourism and Heritage

About the project:

Our team was invited to speak at the conference organized by the Center for creativity at the MAO Museum in Ljubljana.

We delivered talks about much-needed innovation in the cultural sector to bridge the gap between CCI stakeholders and tourism businesses. We shared our insights gathered from the CerDee project. We presented the journey of our start-up LocalsFromZero and shared valuable lessons about the potentials of cultural and creative experiences.

CerDee – Interreg Central Europe

About the project:
Ceramics are closely linked to our daily lives. Central European regions have a long tradition and up-to-date knowledge in this field, with many entrepreneurial opportunities that are not yet fully exploited. The CerDee project is building a CCI network of knowledge institutes, SMEs, regions and a network of museums. They will develop collaborative and EU-wide training and education activities to foster entrepreneurial skills and a new knowledge base for regional creative SMEs. An important outcome will be the accessible CerDee platform, which will serve as a knowledge, marketing and cooperation hub for Central European ceramic CCIs.

Our contribution to the project can be summarized in the following steps:
1. We gathered the needs and references of the planned participants of the event: we created a questionnaire for CerDee participants before the first event in order to adapt the content to the actual needs and current knowledge level of the participants.
2. We conducted training on the methodology of developing and conducting Lean Startup events. The training followed the guidelines for service and experience development and innovation according to the AIRTH Experience Re-Design methodology.
3. Conducted individual consulting for participants on project/product development.
4. Hosted a group discussion where they present and discuss the application of the presented topics in their specific cases and environments with the other participants and the speakers.
5. Prepared an online library of materials used in the D.T3.4.1 activities.
6. Delivered an explanation and proposed a new understanding of the Business Angel concept they can use in the next stages of the project.
